Mount Avoca Estate Shiraz 2019

Share

The Pyrenees region in Victoria makes a very unique style of Australian Shiraz. They are earthy and spicy wines but with a distinct savoury edge backed up by layers of concentrated dark fruits. They offer both generosity of fruit and plenty of interest for anyone looking for shiraz with a difference.

This is a fleshy example from Mount Avoca with a deep colour followed by jubey blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits. Bold and ripe the fruit is punchy and dense backed by tangy acidity and supple tannins. That acid kick makes it perfect to cut through something hearty like Hungarian goulash.
