As the name suggests, this was sourced from the Hollows Vineyard, part of Mount Langi Ghiran. It’s a typical example of a cool-climate Shiraz with its elegance and medium weight contributing to a stylish expression of the variety. The colour is a deep crimson with luminous purple hues. The nose has a suggestion of ironstone, but with some nice black cherry and subtle savoury notes combining. The palate is neatly integrated, with a small percentage of new oak used as part of the 15-month barrel maturation period. The ferment included whole berry and whole bunch, which has contributed to both its structure and brightness and vibrancy on the palate. Has a lovely chalky finish that completes an excellent wine.
