Novum Marlborough Pinot Noir 2019

Share

We have a seriously grown up and sophisticated pinot noir here – nothing pretty right now but it will come in time. Right now it is full of dark, mysterious and brooding fruits. Bright mid cherry in colour, it opens up with herbal, spicy notes, undergrowth and damp earth aromatics underscored by black cherry fruits and subtle oak. The plate continues on a herbal, meaty even smoky line with dark fruits in the rhubarb spectrum, bright acidity and sinewy tannins making for quite a firm and ageworthy style. It finishes long with some stalky Chinese Five Spice flavours just starting to emerge which bodes well for the future.
