Tarras Pinot Gris 2025

Pinot Gris that is almost unrecognisable in comparison to so many of the wishy-washy efforts available today. This is from the Alexandra sub-region of Central Otago. Deep yellow gold in colour, we have notes of stone fruits, pears, green apples and orange rind on the nose. There is even a flick of a peppery character and some smoky whiskey notes. Good power and force throughout, the wine has impressive length. If anyone, blind tasting this wine, gave a nod to Alsace they should not feel too embarrassed. A full throttle Pinot Gris which will provide pleasure for the next five to six years.
