Dicey Pinot Noir 2019

Share

There are not many in Central Otago that know more about pinot noir than the Dicey clan. Father Robin with sons Matt and James have decades in the wine business between them and it shows in their wines, particular the pinot noirs, which show great delicacy of fruit and a gentle touch in the vineyards and winery, with all fruit grown on the family estate in Bannockburn.

This is a very pretty and fragrant pinot style, which is not always easy to find in Otago. Bright mid cherry in colour, there is red berry fruit lifted by rose petals with a backbone of oak and spice. There is great generosity of fruit with more dark earth emerging on the palate which is long and subtle. There is plenty to like in this impressive first vintage which will drink well over the medium term.
