O’Leary Walker Seasonal Release Grenache 2020

Share

You don’t often see grenache from Watervale, especially from vines over 100 years old. The cool Watervale climate has certainly turned out a slightly unusual style for this variety – pretty, fragrant and even delicate.

It is bright mid cherry in colour with beautifully vibrant fruits showcasing a wine for early drinking. There is cranberry, rose petal and tobacco aromas plus some whole bunch spice topped with a dusting of Star anise. It is then fleshy and silky, with white pepper and new leather flavours over a bed of red liquorice and red berry fruits leading to a supple finish. It’s your classic casual red to enjoy on its own or with barbecued chicken.
