This smells of the good old days when Shiraz like this was all the rage, and fortunately for many, still defines what is so attractive about the variety in its classic Australian style. Blackberry jam – still with a little perk and not overcooked – plus sweet oak spices from a neatly crafted French and American barrel regime. It’s all settled in and relaxed now after 6 years maturation in cellar and bottle, the palate balanced with fruit and structure in sync, tannins delightfully integrated. Comfort wine in all its glory.
