A 10-year-old Adelaide Hills Shiraz is something of a rarity. Equally, an Adelaide Hills Shiraz bolstered by 15% alcohol. Rest assured, it all works in the glass. Aromas of panforte, chocolate, bramble, blackberry, bay leaf, leather. Runs smoothly, richly, exploring the region’s super ripe fruit side punctuated in woodsy spice and chocolate with a whisper of savoury charcuterie. The presence of pronounced firm tannins keeps the richness in line together with a cool climate acidity. It’s drinking super well right now retaining a good fruit and spice presence.
