Patina Wines Reserve Chardonnay 2018

Share

If there is one thing to say about the team at Patina Wines and winemaker Gerald Naef, they do make good chardonnay. These are wines that are fine and detailed – absolutely on the elegant style of chardonnay with a classic combination of generous weight and crisp acidity, as all good chardonnay should.

Light golden in colour, this wine announces itself immediately as a generous, balanced and harmonious Chardonnay. It boasts layers of fruit from nectarine and rockmelon through to citrus with an attractive cashew barrel ferment influence. It is then dry with good intensity of fruit over a backbone of tangy acidity and again with nutty influences poking through. Super complexity but could do with a tad more length. Lots to like here and no doubt it will be delicious with lemon chicken.
