Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling 2023

Share

The outstanding value of Clare Valley Riesling should not be lost on any wine lover, and this release from Petaluma only serves to perpetuate it. It’s pretty in its floral and mineral tones with aromas of jasmine, bath salts, riverstone and delicate elderflower making way for fresh cut lemon and Makrut lime leaf. Freshness abounds, and a good swirl of the glass unlocks orange blossom and talc. The palate is dry and balances tension and weight beautifully with citrus dominating in the form of orange rind, lemon juice, and lime skin with lovely floral prettiness adding lift. Ample texture here, too, offsetting the tight citrus fruit. As always, the acidity is mouth watering and zesty, bringing it to a fresh finish. Excellent drinking at $36.
