One litre of some tasty, well-made Pinot Noir for just $9? Aldi describes its little gem as “extreme” value, and it’s hard to disagree. Displays the scent and flavours of the bush, wild herbs and sage, with red cherry, vanilla, potpourri and a touch of musk. There’s plenty to enjoy here, a liveliness of youth which should be enjoyed when young. Captures the grape’s personality well – something which isn’t always obvious in a sub-$10 wine – and dresses it well in warm, woodsy spices. Smooth, clean finish that might not be the longest on record, but neither is it the shortest.
Exclusive to Aldi stores.
