For best results, consider a good decant. Comes together nicely with a rousing bouquet of archetypal Margaret River sweet, black fruits, plum, a dusty earthiness with just a touch of herbal interplay. At 14.5% abv and by Marg’s standards, this is opulent to the point of being luscious. Combined with that warm, chewy texture, you have a wine that will easily match the richest of foods. Not shy in the least, and that also applies to the use of oak, which brings a chocolatey, toasty, smokiness, a fitting partner to the abundant fruit. That’s the plus; the minus is the drying finish. But there is no complaint here about value for money.
