The Eight Songs Shiraz has always been a reflection of the man Peter Lehmann. Big, bold and generous, this is the classic Barossa Shiraz style that welcomes the drinker with open arms before delivering both fruit power and subtlety. It’s like a liquid box of chocolates with pure black and blue fruits on the riper side with a subtle dusting of spice, all wrapped up with high quality French oak. The palate delivers the same with plush dark fruits lifted by red liquorice accents that are underscored by some quite significant but well integrated tannins. This is more serious than it first appears. It then finishes long and fleshy with the overall package very well balanced. It’s a crowd pleaser for sure but also has fantastic depth which provides good aging potential.
