Picardy Tête De Cuvée Pinot Noir 2019

This Tête De Cuvée vintage is built for the long haul with its brooding, savoury and muscular side currently on show. It opens up tight and focussed, with rivers of dark cherry fruit tempered by truffle, cigar box and touches of dried pine needles. It’s a little wild but so good. The palate takes on a more ethereal personality – layers of earthy, spicy goodness holding the dark cherry flavours in tight and wound up by some serious tannins through to an exceptional finish. Don’t even think about opening this before 2030 as it needs plenty of time to flourish.
