Port Phillip Estate Red Hill Chardonnay 2023

Hard to miss those fresh, summery aromas in grapefruit, lemon, white peach and struck flint. The follow up on the palate is equally impressive with a solid core of stone and citrus fruits across the palate and through to the finish, matched to bright, briny acidity. There is some textural, mealy smoothness here but, really, this is all about brisk, clean, crisp and linear. The role of oak almost goes unnoticed which is actually a mark of good winemaking, you know it’s there but it’s discreet. Salivating stuff all round.
