Macerated strawberry and ripe raspberry lead the charge here, followed by nutmeg spice, dark cherry, a glimmer of earth and allusions of rhubarb. Everything sits high in the mouth – raspberry, white pepper, wild strawberry, dark cherry, brown spice and a glimmer of undergrowth. The tannins are chalky and uber-fine, providing ample frame and carry. Brightness is the word – it’s bouncy and puckish while putting on show classic Yarra characters. Nicely done.
