Reschke Merlot 2024

An appealing Merlot from the Limestone Coast, there is a hint of oak here, but it is understated and well handled. The colour is a dark maroon, but it is on the nose where the wine really comes alive. There are notes of blackberries, alluring black cherry pie notes, hints of spices, mint and a delightful touch of plum pudding. There is excellent length here, through to silky tannins. Balanced and delicious, this is a cracking local Merlot which has room for further improvement. Drink now and for the next eight years.
