Classic, dark and charry regionally expressive Shiraz with the deft hand of Larry Cherubino steering this cleverly away from what could easily be a heavyweight style. Fruit from several districts including the eastern foothills and Blewitt Springs come together with ample flesh and deeply set blue and black berry flavours with a spark of spice and lift as the palate progresses, underlaid with soft, fine-sandy tannins. A good, solid yet very accessible Vales Shiraz as a smart price.
