Rusty Mutt Conejo Joven Tempranillo 2019

This is the kind of wine where you ignore the score. Its not meant to be a serious wine, its not meant to sit in a cellar, it is made for fun and casual drinking with a good dose of complexity, which it hits out of the park for a home run. No one will be able to stop after one glass with this juicy little tempranillo, made in what the Spanish call a Joven, or early drinking style.

Its immediately open for business with bright dark cherry, baked earth and spicy fruits with subtle oak sitting way behind – you won’t even know it is there. It’s then fleshy with sweet red and black fruits underpinned by just enough supple tannin grip to give a little backbone without taking away from its superb drinkability. Concentration and length are good too and top off what is a delicious and moreish package. What to eat – Tapas of course.
