Schubert Estate The Gander Reserve Shiraz 2016

Predictably this is a limited volume release. It’s made with a largely traditional formula with basket pressing to a mix of new and older French oak. Carries all of those Barossa characters with liqueur fruit cake, prune, plum and licorice with a sprinkle of coffee grounds. The palate kicks in with a black olive, licorice combination adding to the primary plummy, blackcurrant fruits. Oodles of oak are saturated by the fruit with the tannins providing necessary support.
