Schubert Estate The Gander Reserve Shiraz 2016

Share

A limited release, The Gander is based on a barrel selection. That said, it is clear that barrels were selected with a strong preference for boldness, power and size. Not to mention, a taste for the exotic. Time in French oak has delivered a rich tapestry of scents: roasted coffee grounds, toasty oak, blackcurrant, liquorice strap and a deep well of toasted spices. Christmas cake, glacé berries, black fruits, Moroccan spices cram into the glass. So dense you can almost carve it. Finishes with a hot alcohol warmth. A wine for the enthusiasts of big-hearted Barossa shiraz.
