Silkwood Estate The Bowman Chardonnay 2019

Share

In the search for seriously cool climate chardonnay, Western Australia’s Great Southern is one of the most underrated wine regions in the country. And wines like this show why with its steely acid backbone and quite serious complexity. Pale in colour, the wine opens with understated aromas of melon and florals well supported by malty French oak and nougat complexity. The palate is more savoury, with citrus and crushed nut flavours again over a bed of French oak. Bright acidity also gives impact and helps to drive a fine and very long finish. It’s a very impressive example of Great Southern Chardonnay.
