Small Victories Old Vine Grenache 2021

Share

The clever Ashmead ladies are back with a juicy and vibrant, bright-as-a-button Old Vine Grenache from the Barossa Valley. Lively and supremely fruit-driven – helped by a portion of whole bunch fermentation – it’s cherries and berries ahoy, and fragrant with a floral, musky perfume. There’s gorgeous juiciness with richness and texture from time spent on lees, and eight months in seasoned French oak puncheons resulting in a beautiful savouriness. The fruit has been handled deftly here; the wine holds its elevated alcohol gracefully, and it finishes with a gentle tannin lift. Just the perfect thing for some BBQ’d chorizo with roasted capsicums and alioli.
