St Hallett Sacred Ground Shiraz 2022

Share

Purple fruit, lush and dense, yet sitting in more of a mid-weight category than some of the bigger wines of this region and the historical style. Brooding with wild raspberry pip, dried violets, and tar. Varnishy oak on the nose holds up to the fruit and the plush palate and abundant tannins, whose grip is softened with a swish black velvet cloak. Plenty of dried herbs – thyme, rosemary, underbrush and red baked earth. A lifted finish that keeps this going, and a second glass is poured. Cries out for a cold winter night and some charry red meat.
