St Hugo Vertus Purum Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

From the heart of Coonawarra comes the pinnacle wine from St Hugo which is unashamedly built for the cellar. Despite its age, the colour remains supremely youthful with a deep, bright ruby before launching into dense sweet dark fruits – fruit pastille and mulberries with a strong presence of oak topped by layers of cedar/pine complexity. Classic cabernet with its firm, mid-weight palate showing ample, tightly wound dark fruits just beginning to open up with the barest touches of cigarbox. It’s starting to drink well but will likely be right in the slot in another five to ten years. Released June 2022.
