In complete contrast to the youthful liveliness of the new release Stella Bella Shiraz, comes the new release Cabernet Sauvignon. This is one serious and dark Cabernet. The use of oak is a good indication of its intent. Its cedary, smoky prominence and presence alongside richly layered fruit indicates a wine of some age-worthiness. Fine cut oak tannins that bring a firm structure to the wine confirm it. Cabernet to its core in blackberry, earth, crushed leaf and undergrowth, it’s lifted nicely by cinnamon, clove and anise spice and the aromatic beauty of violets. The scent and flavour of the soil, savoury and at times, fungal, sits perfectly with the lifted black fruits and spice and fine tannins. A wine of power and presence and poise.
