Tamar Ridge Single Block Kayena Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024

Share

The team refer to this particular block as Block 28. It is populated by clone D4V2. Maturation is for around one year in French oak barriques, with a small percentage new. It completes a trio of seriously impressive Pinots from Tasmania from Tamar Ridge and suggests that the team at Brown Brothers always had more than good trout fishing in mind when they brought this estate into the fold. Crimson red in colour, this is a savoury style, tighter and perhaps not as forthcoming as its siblings. Dark fruits dominate here with notes of warm earth, coffee grinds, blackberries and even a hint of chocolate. There is a note that is almost reminiscent of garden compost, but it does add to the complexity and show just how different these three wines are. There is juicy acidity, fine-grained tannins and good length here. Drink this over the next eight to ten years.
