Taylors Masterstroke Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Taylors Jarraman Cabernet Sauvignon has always been a star in the Taylors range, and my guess is that its Coonawarra component is the key to that success. The Masterstroke is quite a classically styled cabernet rather than the bigger, riper, crowd pleasing style that you might expect. Deeply coloured, there are pretty leafy perfumes supported by cedar, violets and blackcurrant fruits. It’s then more mid-weight than full-bodied; a core of dark fruits are supported by juicy acidity and sinewy tannins that support a lingering finish. It’s crisp and balanced so has some aging potential but is probably best on the young side at its brightest and freshest.
