Fans of the classic Australian Cabernet Shiraz blend should stack up on this as it is a great example that will no doubt cellar well. It’s an Australian Claret style with a foot in both Wrattonbully and Bordeaux. Deeply coloured, there are energetic but measured aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry and cedar with well judged high quality oak. There is a muscular shape to the palate and a delicious energy with fresh, exuberant fruits on a mid-weight palate with a bed of firm, but fine grained tannins providing an extended finish. The overall balance is exceptional and it already feels settled in for the long haul, promising a couple of decades of drinking pleasure.
