Brown & Co Oak Aged Chardonnay 2024

Share

In today’s financial climate, it’s particularly exciting to find a wine that I would happily share with friends at under $20. The aromas are classic Chardonnay with lemon peel, white peach and clotted cream, a hint of butter, a sprinkle of vanilla seeds and a pinch of nutmeg. Fresh and bright with yellow plums and grapefruit joining in the fun flavour-wise. It has juicy, balanced acidity and a slightly chalky texture. The oak adds a sweet spice, but resides in the background, allowing the fruit to shine. At this price it’s not designed to age but this will hold up well for a few years yet. Pair with pan-fried whiting fillets and a crisp fennel and citrus salad.
