A wine to excite the tastebuds. A combination of scintillating bright acidity and an intensity of pure lime and lemon citrus really gets the gastric juices working overtime. But there’s more. Strathbogies is classic Riesling country – high and cool with some of the world’s largest areas of cordierite-rich granite and quartz – and the overall style and balance exhibited here is impressive. White flowers, citrus blossom bring a floral lift. Lemon, lime with a grapefruit pithiness and green apple tartness with a touch of dark leaf herbs combine on a chalky texture. It is a dry Riesling, which is just how it should be.
