A field blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. 100% barrel fermented before maturing also in barrel for 9 months. It’s lifted and richly aromatic with a plush and ripe feel and savouriness very much in the mix thanks to bottle age. Hay and honeysuckle lead the charge before an emergent build of pear, preserved lemon, ripe peach, peach blossom, toast, and candied ginger. The palate is textural and rich though with a sense of lift and control enough to balance it. Peach skin and flesh, ripe pear, lemon zest and sweet pops of honeysuckle sit above an underpinning hay and toast savouriness. It’s a food wine, and quite delicious with a pithy phenolic presence helping to frame and freshen the finish. Drink now, and at $26, go back for more.
