Waldgries Ansitz Myra Sauvignon Sudtirol DOC 2021

An underdog region for Sauvignon Blanc, and what a wine here loaded with fragrant varietal character! Flint, fennel, guava, passionfruit, faint vanilla, yoghurt, basil stems – almost anise seed – and pretty elderflower notes. Brioche and cheesecloth give away on lees aging. Rich and round balanced by mineral tension and finesse. Feels luxurious with lingering grapefruit pith, subtle licorice and a stemmy, peppery finish.
