Wine By Sam The Victorian Riesling 2021

Share

You may not have heard of Sam Plunkett but in a relatively short period of time his small team have become one of the largest wine producers in Central Victoria thanks to Sam’s success at Naked Wines. And for good reason too due to their delicious all-round drinkability, as is found with this riesling.

Made with fruit from a cool vineyard near the Cathedral Range, it is a bright, vibrant and gently aromatic style with pear, apple and bath salt aromas that are elegant and restrained. The palate then showcases juicy acidity balanced with a touch of sweetness with more citrus pith and floral flavours coming through plus a sherbet edge. Fine and detailed, there is a lingering finish and good balance making it an ideal match with a big bowl of salt and pepper squid.
