Xanadu Vinework Viognier 2024

Share

Apricot pastry, dried apricot, subtle manuka honey, poached nectarine, heady jasmine and rose, musk and a sweep of sweet spice. This leans to freshness and line more than overt expression — often a risk with this grape, and at this price point in particular. The palate holds nice freshness while achieving a waxy texture. Notes largely mirror the nose: apricot, lemon curd, dried rose petals, peach, brown spice and pear. Ample frame, with the acidity cleansing and freshening the finish and wax and honey tones lingering. A very enjoyable expression managing to keep line and lift while showing the Viognier.
