Yalumba The Steeple Shiraz 2018

Share

This is the best vintage of The Steeple I can recall. The wine is drawn from a single 99-year old vineyard in Light Pass that is farmed biodynamically and it is quite and understated Barossan expression. Deeply coloured; dark cherry, dried herb and earthy aromas slowly rise up with an attractive tarry undertow. The palate then takes it up a couple of notches with impressive intensity and a seamless quality with fruit finely balanced with fine but firm tannins. It’s beautifully poised and complete, coffee bean flavoured oak providing the perfect canvas. Seriously good and will age well.
