Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon has a well-recognised set of character traits and this wine is pretty well a catalogue of all of those: to begin, high-toned cassis – virtually Kir Royal and Ribena-like with dark mint chocolate – flowing seductively from nose into the palate, a rich and generous swirl, French oak spice adding extra depth and weight. It’s concentrated and unashamedly full-bodied, and to still highlight all its primary flavour notes in such a big-boned frame is some achievement.
