Aces & Arrows Barossa Grenache 2019

So, so spicy! There’s the sweet baking spices that spill from Nanna’s pantry and a burst of Sichuan pepper. The fruit is plump but so savoury – like the jus-laced cherry sauce drizzled over a plump duck breast. Barossa wines are often noted for their vibrant fruit expression, perhaps it’s the old vines and some whole bunch fermentation, but this beauty has an enhanced savoury sophistication. Plenty of flavour but with a graphite minerality, and it bears, repeating, loads of sexy spice. Drink with a big charcuterie platter and a table full of friends.
