After Five Wine Co Barossa Valley Montepulciano 2024

This is a pleasant drop from a grape which is quickly gaining in popularity in Australia, particularly as more vineyards here are now growing it. It’s incredibly fruity on the nose with boysenberry, strawberry, raspberry and black cherry, plus some pretty violets, with the fruit singing in the mouth. It needs a lot of air to tame the drying tannins but it melds well with food, especially pasta or pizza.
