The big mover in the wine world right now is fragrant, juicy, light weight red wines with personality that deliver in spades as soon as they hit the shelf. Here is a good example showing the suitability for Grenache to the style. It’s a beautiful garnet colour before launching into peppery, five-spice aromas on a bed of red cherry and freshly turned earth – but youthful juicy fruit is what this wine is all about. It’s a little richer and mouthfilling than expected starting out supple before tightening up as stalky tannins drive a more herbal finish. It’s deliciously multi-layered for fans of crunchy, modern reds. Chill it down and enjoy with fish tacos.
