Altus Rise Ascension Shiraz 2020

Margaret River Shiraz too often falls into the shadow of their great Cabernets but you are doing yourself a disservice if you ignore them. This one is a deep maroon (always a good sign for a Queenslander), with an immediate note of plums and mulberries. Cloves and spices; the oak is well integrated. This is quite approachable at the moment and a little broad in style. Good grip with soft tannins and while it will improve it is enjoyable now, but will be even better in time.
