Artis Single Vineyard Syrah 2017

Share

The vines for the 2017 Syrah were planted by Brian Croser and include clones from Wendouree and Tahblik. The fruit from multiple clones is picked and fermented together to achieve complexity and give a natural balance to the finished product. The vibrant red berries of strawberry and red cherry are immediately followed by a kalamata olive focaccia aroma, with fresh bay leaf, white pepper and a cardamon character on the finish with seamless dusty tannins that finish silky smooth. A lovely wine that looks extremely youthful drinking now in 2022. I’m going to take the winemakers lead here and say a home made burger with the lot wouldn’t go astray.
