From vineyards in Vinci on Chianti’s western flank and crafted from the Sangiovese Grosso clone of Brunello fame. Pale salmon colour, with aromas of fennel, mandarin zest, and kumquat before some bright red cherry and delicate savoury spice unfurl with air and temperature. There’s a good hit of texture to the palate, though no burst of fruit as one might expect. Restrained watermelon, cherry, Seville orange bitterness and a lemon, lime bitters finish. Lovely savouriness and bitter amaro vibes here. The finish has a nice chalky grip, too. Importer: Bibendum Wine Co.
