Balgownie Estate Bendigo Shiraz 2012

Share

The 2012 Estate Shiraz is a lovely wine from beginning to end. While it’s currently 13 years old, it only has a touch of garnet highlights in its rich and ruby-coloured juice. The nose is a delight, offering lovely cinnamon powder and a smidge of vanilla, with tertiary notes of dried red and black fruits, prune, smoke and clove. The palate is silky, concentrated and delicious, with fully integrated tannins and quite a light touch, not big and brash. It’s reached its peak but there’ll still be quite a while until it begins to decline.
