Handpicked Capella Single Vineyard Pinot Noir Mornington Peninsula 2022

This is restrained and brooding to begin with. Dark berries, a stemmy nuance and an emergent ferrous minerality as well as a cacao bitter note beneath. It’s reticent and furled. The palate holds similar restraint, with dark cherry, red currant, nutmeg, a stemmy note again. The tannins have a sappy and powdery feel and the length is there, though I’d like to see more expressiveness and intensity at the price point.
