Also named Mourvèdre and Monastrell, it’s a key player in ubiquitous GSM blends where it adds earthy, savoury tannins and bold fruit. This single variety example highlights aromas of dried blackberries, poached plums and star anise with a quirky, savoury note of bresaola. It’s rich and almost sweet with the plushness of the fruit.
