Potential with a capital P, this young Fiano is still in early building phase. The scaffolds up – acidity is keen – and the main works are in place, but it has a little way to go, revealing a serious quality side to the Italian grape variety. Everything sits beautifully in place in readiness. Nashi pear, green apple, spice, lemongrass are a little reserved now, but are the building blocks for a bright future. Texture is also in place and something of a treat. There are hints of a gentle savouriness, too, but this is something that will awaken with a little more time. A top example of a serious Fiano from a difficult vintage.
