From one of the most revered vineyards in the commune Castiglione Falletto, this is so captivating from the start; the first essential sentence in what becomes a great novel. Black cherry and bakery, like the dough of a Danish pastry, and again, like many of its collegiate Barolos, a basket of dried flowers sits in the background. Once in the mouth it spreads and swells with a wonderful matrix of flavours, fruit and savoury entwined, while its gorgeous tannins allow the palate to swirl unhindered. The joy with this wine is that whirlpool, seeming to encourage all of its characters to evolve even within one mouthful. There is a physicality to this wine that is truly remarkable. Brilliant.
