Bertaine et Fils Rosé 2020

While Provence might have the fame for rosé in France, plenty of wine regions around the country have a shot with a range of delicious results. This version is from the Aude region, from the country’s south and almost on the Spanish border. It’s a dependable and well-priced label for French rosé fans.

Subtle and delicate in style, and oh so French, it is a pretty pale salmon pink in colour. The aromas are multilayered with charcuterie, spice and dried herbs over fresh cranberry. The palate is all about finesse – its silky texture and light weight blended with earthy, red berry fruits. Crisp and dry, this screams out for drinking chilled by the pool, or as an aperitif.
