Black & Ginger Great Western Cinco Rojas 2023

An enticing mix of Garnacha (Grenache), Graciano, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Tinta Cão and Touriga Nacional, the Cinco Rojas is a light and pleasing wine that brings a bit of the Iberian peninsula to Australia. With a few years of bottle age now, it’s presenting a mix of primary and tertiary characters: red and black cherry, black pepper, shoe polish, smoke and dried mushroom. There’s some slight bitterness on the back palate, so pretend you’re in a Spanish bar and consume it with some tapas or something spicy.
